PCPS Seeking Public Comment on Plans for COVID-19 School Relief Federal Funding

Spread the love

Polk County Public Schools is applying for important school relief funds through the American Rescue Plan Act. This federal grant — commonly known as ESSER III (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) — will help PCPS and other school districts continue to address learning loss, health and safety needs of students and staff, and operational changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of this application process, PCPS is asking stakeholders throughout the community to complete a brief survey. You can find the survey here (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PolkESSERIIIFunding). The deadline to complete this survey is Dec. 17, 2021. Please share your thoughts on how ESSER III funding could be used to support our students, staff members and schools. The survey will also ask for your thoughts on the district’s Instructional Continuity Plan (ICP). The ICP is a set of plans and procedures covering how our school district would continue to provide students access to a high-quality education when a disaster, emergency or other disruptive event causes extended school closures or otherwise interrupts traditional face-to-face instruction. Thanks for providing your feedback and helping our school district apply for this important resource to support our students, staff and schools.
