The Polk County School Board will have a work session at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 14), followed by a regular board meeting at 5 p.m. Each will take place at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center, 4270 Wallace Road in Lakeland. The work session and board meeting will be broadcast live via the district’s YouTube channel. They will also be broadcast live on the following channels: Comcast channel 7, Frontier channel 45, Spectrum channel 642. The school board is also scheduled to conduct a grievance hearing at 3 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 14) at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 2227 filed a Step V School Board level grievance on behalf of Maintenance Department employees regarding premium pay.
