Weekend plans? Check. Citizens Bank & Trust Mayfaire by-the-Lake is back (and celebrating its 50th year) this Sat., May 7-Sun., May 8, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. A staple of the Florida art scene and ranked among Sunshine Artist Magazine’s “200 Best Art Shows” for ten years running, Mayfaire is a free, two-day, juried fine art festival held in downtown Lakeland.
What we love: Strolling around Lake Morton while admiring and shopping 150+ artist booths that showcase a variety of mediums. Think: painting and sculpture, jewelry and photography, and everything in between.
What’s new: For the 50th celebration, visitors can enjoy an expanded Ruthven’s Mayfaire Kid Zone (including Kids Collect, a kids-only tent where they can purchase their own artwork donated by the artists at a nominal price), food vendors, performances, and a 50th anniversary exhibition at the Polk Museum of Art. Check out the festival map.

Love a souvenir? In addition to bringing home some gorgeous, one-of-a-kind art, visitors can snag retro merchandise from Mayfaire’s past, plus this year’s featured poster image by Mike Williams, throughout the festival. *
