All summer long

Summer Camp Explorations | Explorations V Children’s Museum, 109 N. Summer Fun | 3151 Hardin Combee Rd. | Tues., May 31-Fri., Aug. 5 | 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. | $50+ per week | Campers can look forward to weekly field trips, arts and crafts, and playing sports all summer long. 
Camp Fire | Camp Fire Sunshine, 2600 Buckingham Ave. | Mon., June 6-Fri., Aug. 5 | 8 a.m.-5 p.m. | $125+ per week | K-6th graders can sign up for a week or stay all summer + enjoy field trips and hear from guest speakers — a Monday through Wednesday minicamp option is available.

For the artist

Band and String Orchestra Camp | Florida Southern College | Sun., June 19-Fri., June 24 | All day | $350+ | Rising 7-12th graders with at least one year of experience playing an instrument can hone their craft with instructors from Florida Southern’s music department — overnight and day options available.   
Summer Art Camp | Polk Museum of Art | Dates vary | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. | $290+ | Students aged 7-13 can sign up for three different art classes over the course of 2 weeks.
Summer Dance Intensive | Florida Southern College | Mon., July 18-Fri., July 22 | 9 a.m.-5 p.m. | $450 | Dancers 14+ can learn from a professional dance company and finish with a performance at the end of the week. 
Musical Theatre Intensive | All Saints Academy, 5001 State Rd. 540 W. | Mon., July 18-Fri., July 22 | 9 a.m.-3 p.m. | $350 | Young stars from 6-12th grade will join in on masterclasses + have a Q&A with Broadway professionals.

For the athlete

Supernova Summer Camp | Nova Athletics Academy, 2250 Heritage Dr. | Dates vary | 7 a.m-6 p.m. | $125+ | Keep kids ages 5+ active through gymnastics, tumbling, dance, and obstacle courses — full day and half-day options are available for the weeklong camp. 
Ninja Summer Camp | Karate Beyond, 4126 S. Florida Ave. | Dates vary | 9 a.m.-12 p.m. | $120 | Spend a week in ninja mode with nerf wars, lightsaber battles, and American Ninja Warrior-styled competitions. 
FSCVB Camps | Jenkins Field House, 111 Lake Hollingsworth Dr. | Dates vary | Times vary | $ | Volleyball players of all skill levels can participate in a camp suited to their abilities and come out with new skills. 
Wake Camp | Elite Cable Park, 330 Denton Ave. | Dates vary | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. | $225+ | Wakeboarders ages 9-15 with any level of experience can learn basic skills and new tricks in this week-long camp — gear is included. 

For the explorer

Scuba Camp | 2055 Shepherd Rd. | Dates vary | 8 a.m.-5 p.m. | $499 | Campers will spend a week getting scuba certified and doing guided dives. Divers must bring a mask, snorkel, fins + a signed waiver. 
Into the Woods Summer Camp | WonderHere Farm, 5120 Colbert Rd. | Tues., July 5-Fri., July 8 | 8 a.m.-4 p.m. | $239 | Kids who love the outdoors will make a bird feeder and wind chimes, go on scavenger hunts + sit around a campfire — there is an optional outdoor overnight camp Thurs., July 7.  
Rockin’ W Summer Camps | Rockin’ W Ranch, 5247 Rifle Range Rd. | Dates vary | Times vary | $200+ | Campers will learn horse care basics, play games on horseback, and enjoy water activities + crafts.

Inventor Adventures Summer Camp | WonderHere Farm, 5120 Colbert Rd. | Mon., July 18-Fri., July 22 | 8 a.m.-4 p.m. | $239 | Through hands-on experiments, campers will learn about famous inventions + make some of their own. 
Kids at College 2022 | Polk State College Lakeland Campus, 3425 Winter Lake Rd. | Dates vary | Times vary | $60+ | Spend a week at college taking classes designed to meet any interest, ranging from chess to beauty, fashion, and fitness.  
Snapology Summer Camp | First Presbyterian Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Dr. | Dates vary | Times vary | $120+ | Pre-K-8th can learn about different subjects through hands-on LEGO building.
